The last few issues of the Parish Magazine are available free to download. These 32 page, high quality glossy periodicals are published bi-annually and distributed throughout Llantwit Major and Cowbridge in South Wales. In an effort to reduce duplication, and speed up site updates, the Parish Archive and Old Newsletter pages have been closed down. The options still exist on the main menu, but an automatic page redirect will direct you from there to the updated sitemap. The sitemap has been updated with new content and can now be used in conjunction with the RSS feed to navigate your way around our site.

EVENT - Cafod Harvest Fast Day - Soup Lunch - October 2009

On Sunday 4th October, 60 parishioners and friends gathered in the Parish centre to enjoy a lunch of home made soup with a bread roll, followed by a choice of a Danish pastry or a scone with tea, coffee or a cold drink. Members of the CAFOD group made and served the soup, making good use of the kitchens excellent facilities and equipment. Eleanor and Sean Macnamara set up a stall selling Fairtrade produce and were very pleased with the positive response from those present.

The parish provides catholic instruction for children aged 3 to 11 years under the guidance of Elizabeth and her assistants, as the majority of our children do not attend Catholic Primary schools. It is pleasing the groups have grown, and the children who attend several different schools, have benefited from the friendships formed and the development and understanding of their faith from Wednesday sessions.

Thanks to Rae Morgan's hospitality, we were able to hold our July Garden Party in her lovely garden, and make use of her swimming pool. All appreciated the barbecue, and the children thoroughly enjoyed using the pool.

EVENT - Ladies Guild Outing to Craig y Nos - July 2009

In July the Ladies Guild visited Craig y Nos, home to the world famous Welsh soprano Madame Adeline Patti over a hundred years ago. She bought the original castle for �35,000 and spent �100,000 on it, including the addition of the theatre.The decor in the theatre is as it was in her day with the names of all the operatic composers painted around the walls and also the original backdrop on the stage. After an excellent lunch there, the coach went to Brecon. Some visited the magnificent ancient Catherdal, some explored the shops, while a few went down to the river.

EVENT - First Holy Communion - 14th June 2009

On Sunday 14th June 2009, the feast of Corpus Christi, four Parish children received the Sacrament of Holy Communion for the first time. They prepared for this special day by attended weekly Wednesday sessions with their catechist Elizabeth and Father Maher and completing the "I Belong" preparation programme for First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion.
