On Sunday 14th June 2009, the feast of Corpus Christi, four Parish children received the Sacrament of Holy Communion for the first time. They prepared for this special day by attended weekly Wednesday sessions with their catechist Elizabeth and Father Maher and completing the "I Belong" preparation programme for First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion.

The children were supported by their families, friends in Parish Angels and Parish Doves, Prayer Friends and parishioners. It was a joyous occasion for everyone present and we pray that God's loving presence will bless the children and they, with their parents, will remain faithful to the Church and her teachings.

Prayer Friends are individually chosen from the Parish at the beginning of the preparation year to pray for the children and support them on this journey.  Parish Angels and Doves (pre & post communion groups) participated in the Mass by reading and singing.

Group sessions resume on Wednesday 30th September in the Parish Centre.  If you have a child aged 3 to 11yrs and wish for them to join our Catholic Instruction programme, please email Elizabeth via this website.  Thank you.
