Our Parish Preparing for Christmas
December 2010

Last week, the Ladies Guild and St.Vincent de Paul Conference laid on a tea in the Parish Centre following an afternoon Advent Mass which was attended by many of our more senior parishioners.

Next Tuesday, children, young people, the church choirs and parishioners will come together at St. Cadoc for the CAFOD carol service, a mixture of traditional carols and readings together with thought provoking presentations about our needy world. Between these two has been a wonderful living CRIB, with children from the catechism classes presenting the Christmas story in costume through readings, poems, prayers and carols.

Among the traditional characters at the Crib: Mary and Joseph, shepherds, sheep, an ox, a donkey and a lamb; were soe more unusual creatures offering their prayers to the infant Jesus, the cockerel, the spider, the bird and the mouse.

Congratulations to our catechists, especially Elizabeth and her helpers, Carys the organist, the parents and most of all to our children.
